Dress up and dressed down, this issue of Apostrophe’s Fashion & Style highlights four accessorized models all from California. The Arc of California organized this fashion shoot by Liz Simpson with hair, makeup and fashion by Juniper James and Article Consignment. Hope you enjoy!
Fashion TIP! — Good afternoon — A tip of the fedora is a welcoming sight. Dress it with a casual button down shirt and a pair of dark jeans for a day downtown or brunch with the family. Give your shirt a little pizazz by adding a tie that complements your shirt.
Matt’s friends and family would tell you that he’s outgoing and funny. He enjoys entertaining them with his dance moves and singing. He attends Dream Theater classes and regularly performs in the theater’s productions.
Fashion TIP! — Sizzle in satin — Satin and ruffles are a fun, feminine way to dress up any outfit when it comes to evening wear. Mix it with a black flowy skirt and unusual accessories, like a faux fur purse or blingy purple earrings, and you’ll be ready for a night out on the town.
Lacey completed her high school career in June with a letter of completion. She is currently involved in “The Shining Star Pagent,” which is a beauty pageant for people with special needs. She attends the Dream Theater theatrical arts program. Her dream is to become an actress.
Fashion TIP! — Sun up, shades on — Casual Fridays were made for soft cotton denim, a button down shirt — unbuttoned — and your favorite tee underneath. Don’t forget some fresh kicks and a cool pair of shades, like these vintage-inspired sun catchers Jacob is styling.
Jacob graduated from Rio Americano High School in Sacramento, Calif., and will attend William Jessup University in Rocklin, Calif., this fall. He’s a camp counselor. Jacob said he strives to be an example to everyone around him and a man of integrity, respect and humor.
Fashion TIP! — Sequin savvy — Headed to a club, a concert or a formal party? Don’t be shy, go for the bling. A flashy dress always goes well with the perfect high heel. Remember, the purse doesn’t have to match, but it should complement your outfit.
Alexandria has a good-paying job working for Goodwill Industries. She is part of a local bowling league, and her basketball team placed second in the Special Olympics regional tournament. She’s part of the theater arts program at Dream Theater in Roseville, Calif.,and is taking college prep classes at American River College in Sacramento.
