Reach Inc.’s Project SEARCH program in Bozeman, Mont., graduated its first class June 11, 2015.
Six student interns participated in the program, each receiving career and on-the-job training at Bozeman Deaconess Medical Center.
Reach Inc. Director Rob Tallon said the hospital welcomed the student interns who experienced total immersion into its facility.
Each intern worked Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. for nine months. They all had the chance to work in several of the 13 different departments doing jobs that contribute to the hospital’s mission. Jobs included working at the front desk, lab and sterile processing center, family birth center, rehabilitation center, pediatrics center, among others.
In addition, the students also attended daily one-hour classes to learn about career planning.
Rob said that Reach will continue to work with Bozeman Deaconess through the Project SEARCH program. A new class starts November 2015.
